The results are in and countless studies on trauma idenfity its far reaching impact for us. The National Child Traumatic Stress Network states “Without treatment, repeated childhood exposure to traumatic events can affect the brain and nervous system and increase health-risk behaviors (e.g., smoking, eating disorders, substance use, and high-risk activities). Research shows that child trauma survivors can be more likely to have long-term health problems (e.g., diabetes and heart disease) or to die at an earlier age.”

Once we recognize we have experienced childhood abuse, it can be a jarring experience. I specialize in helping identify your strengths and barriers to overcome lifelong held beliefs that may be inconsistent with who you authentically are. I use various techniques that include traditional talk therapy as well as alternative techniques including somatic and expressive interventions to help explore the impact of trauma in a more effective way.

Most importantly, I provide a space for you to let your guard down and explore what you have endured.
